The Rock’n’Roll Hurricane in Sin City

Following the huge success of the “In the Eye of the Rock’n’Roll Hurricane” exhibition at its previous venues, the new version at the LDI Show in Las Vegas has been received with equal enthusiasm.

After Paderborn, Iserlohn, Frankfurt and Montreux, Las Vegas is the fifth station on the tour of the exhibition, which once again covers over 1000 m². Alongside familiar works from earlier exhibitions, the Lightpower Collection also put some new acquisitions on display. These images, which had never been on public view before, served to underline the wide range of the collection. They included a pensive Aretha Franklin, a meditating Leonard Cohen and an informal image of Möetly Crüe behind the scenes.

Around 5,000 visitors came to see these unique glimpses into actual Rock’n’Roll history. Neal Preston was overwhelmed by the response and the number of visitors:

“I just want to say thank you for the most professionally and emotionally fulfilling … weekend that I have ever experienced. I keep trying to find the right words to describe to people what went on and how it felt – and I keep failing miserably. My thesaurus has been rendered useless.“

The whole exhibition was made possible by the generous involvement of numerous sponsors. First and foremost was the LDI itself, and the long-term Lightpower partner, A.C.T. Lighting, which co-hosted the exhibition and put in a huge amount of effort in advance to bring this mammoth undertaking to fruition.

When the exhibition opened, the Lightpower Collection handed over another cheque – this time worth $25,000 – to the charity “Behind the Scenes”, which helps event technicians in our industry that are suffering hardship. The Lightpower Collection operates as a non-profit organisation and donates all the income from the sale of fine art prints and merchandise items to the charitable foundation.
